One of the main uses of CBD is, for lack of a better medical phrase, to chill people out. According to Healthline, “… CBD (is) an appealing option for those who are looking for relief from pain and other symptoms without the mind-altering effects of cannabis or other side effects related to some pharmaceutical drugs.” CBD has helped many users feel at ease. “I’m normally a go getter. I can’t stop! Using your CBD products help me to make sense of the world, take a step back and relax,” says Harry T, an avid customer. So how does one relax? We went over that in last week’s blog but now we’re looking into how CBD can give you that little extra push. Melatonin and CBD for Relaxation
So now that we know that CBD can assist in relaxation, what other supplements may help with getting us to dreamland? Melatonin of course! According to HHS, “Melatonin is a hormone that your brain produces in response to darkness. It helps with the timing of your circadian rhythms (24-hour internal clock) and with sleep.” So it is a naturally occurring chemical that is in everyone’s bodies. So why do we take extra Melatonin to fall asleep? “Melatonin supplements may help with certain conditions, such as jet lag, delayed sleep-wake phase disorder, some sleep disorders in children, and anxiety before and after surgery.” As mentioned above, to relax better and have better sleep you need to do the work. Melatonin works as a supplement but everything has to come together to promote a restful night.
A Routine for Relaxation
One of the best ways to Relax is by having a routine. Humans are creates of habit and by creating a daily routine our bodies know what actions to expect as what time. According to Rise Science, “Your bedtime routine is a necessity, not a luxury. Taking time to wind down and focusing on passive tasks that aren’t cognitively arousing will help unravel your mind and loosen up your body to become sufficiently relaxed for sleep.” It’s not a great idea to do a high intensity workout right before bed (an hour before is fine of course!), or other activities that may get you worked up such as reading the news or going on your social media. What is a good idea is to wind down, reflect on your day and prepare for the next. It’s a good idea to read a book, relax, brush your teeth and digest your day.
Relaxation Leads to Sleeping
It’s hard to Relax these days, we know. That being said, there are some ways to Relax throughout the day that will lead to relaxation before bed. If you find yourself running around and not getting a lot done + not being able to sleep, you need to take a step back. Planning your day is important and knowing what is coming will help you rest easy and feel prepared. Too many times, our days start to unravel because we go off course from a plan. Now, we know things pop up and life is crazy and honestly it may be tedious to stick to a strict schedule so also prepare yourself for changes. Digest changes in a good way, accept them and move on. All of this will help you Relax later in the day. There are also other methods of relaxation like doing yoga, meditating, or just simply taking a break and walking away from your desk.
