August 14, 20235 Focus Tips for Fall
The weather is getting colder so here’s 5 Focus Tips for Fall! It’s a new month which means we’ll focus on a new formulation. Since colleges are back in session, summer vacations are over, and people are back in the office, it’s a great month to start focusing. Our CBD Focus formula contains CBD, CBG, and 5-HTP. CBG is another cannabinoid similar to CBD but has a different chemical make-up. CBG has shown to help with numerous issues which Leafly explains here. According to WebMD, 5-HTP has been used to increase serotonin levels. All of these ingredients combined, create our Focus formula to help you concentrate on the task at hand.
Create a Calm Environment
This one seems like a no-brainer but we must remember your environment must be conducive to your work style. If you find that you can work in a messy workspace, go for it! However, most of us need at the very least a somewhat organized work station. It can be hard to focus on the task at hand when your desk is a mess. On top of that, you may find yourself organizing your station while you should be focusing on your work. According to Vantage Fit, “Having a clean workspace creates a positive environment and helps employees increase their focus. The most common items that lead to a messy workspace are waste paper, leftover food, used napkins, and cluttered desks in some offices.” So be sure to keep those work spaces clean!
Take Breaks
Burn out is real! We all would like a perfect work/life balance but this isn’t always attainable. That being said, if you find yourself grinding away it’s always good to take small breaks. It gives your brain a moment to regroup and lets your mind switch topics. When you return to work you’ll be ready to go as if your brain has been recharged. Be careful to time your breaks and make sure you’re not getting too far off task. According to Psychology Today, “Working for long stretches without breaks leads to stress and exhaustion. Taking breaks refreshes the mind, replenishes your mental resources, and helps you become more creative.” So even if you are full speed ahead, be sure to let your brain take a break!
Listen to Music
This one may be controversial but it totally depends on your work style. While completing a task it may be worth your while to put on some music or a podcast. As long as the music or podcast can be background noise, then you should be good to go. If you find yourself focusing too much on the music or podcast, it may be time to turn it off. It totally depends on the task at hand. According to the BBC, ““Historically, music and work have always been intertwined… Think about romantic visions of peasants singing as they harvest, or sea chanteys sung by sailors as they work on their ships. And since most people enjoy listening to music of some kind in at least some contexts, it’s perfectly natural to feel that music must have some sort of positive impact on our work.” Thought this may not work for everyone, it’s a great way to get you pumped and ready for work.
Set a Goal
This concept can be carried along to most aspects of Wellness, life improvement and most tasks in general. Setting a goal makes you have something to look forward to. You can have short term goals and long term goals, but having a goal in general is important. If you find yourself disliking goals, you can break them down smaller so the task is not as overwhelming. According to Positive Psychology, “People with high efficacy are more likely to set challenging goals and commit to them. Individuals who sustain belief in their abilities under the pressure of challenging goals tend to maintain or even increase their subsequent goals, thereby making improvements to ensuing performances.” That being said, setting goals not only makes you feel secure in your progress, but it helps you further your goals and work harder.
Don’t Get Stuck
If you feel like you’re getting stuck while trying to focus, it’s always good to re0direct. If you find yourself having trouble on one task, put it a side and revisit it at a later time. Of course we all have deadlines and need to get stuff done, however, putting aside a project can help to reset your brain. Prioritizing your tasks or goals is a very important step in this process. Knowing that priorities can change and rearrange is important as well. Something that was one on the back burner maybe brought to the forefront and then you have to concentrate on that task. One study found that when you’re interrupted from working and given a new task, this can help to get your first task done quicker. According to Clockify, “One study from 2008, indicated that jumping between tasks may speed up work on your main task, instead of slowing it down — but, only if we get interrupted on a task, and not seek out new tasks ourselves.” Now let’s get to how our Focus Formula can help even further with your focus.
